Design & Production for Hotel Modez

Haberdashery Wallpaper & Textile

Inspired by my work the hotel commissioned me to design and produce a photographic pattern for wallpaper and curtains as well as design bedside tables and other furnishings. The briefing was to decorate the hotelroom from floor to ceiling, using one aspect of the fashion industry; 'haberdashery'.

Wake up in a colourful sea of threads, buttons, beads, zippers, bias band and buckles. Look at all different sorts of haberdashery and details on the walls and ceiling. Voorn created a contemporary clash & match of colours, shapes and details on the walls, chairs, nightstands, lamps and curtains in hotelroom no.07.

In this room of hotel Modez, Voorn shows the overwhelming amount of haberdashery on offer from wich a fashion designer defines every season the right look and feel of the collection in detail, to finish off the garments.

Creating an overview of beads, press studs, buttons, zippers, applications, leather elbow patches, needles, thread and pins as pattern. Each item has been photographed and incorporated piece by piece into one unique wallpaper print of 24 metres. Colourful bias band as skirting board flows over into a print of threads, alternated by pins and buttons that seem to be swept from wall to ceiling. A ceiling that is covered by a print of scattered buttons. Bedside tables as sewing boxes, with a ladder to reach the top shelf..
